By hiring Book Bunny Editing for services, the Author agrees to the following terms:

Originality & AI Restriction: The Author affirms that all submitted content — including the manuscript, worldbuilding elements, character design, and promotional materials — is original and not generated by artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Sudowrite, Jasper, Midjourney, DALL·E, etc.). Undisclosed use of AI-generated content may cause immediate termination of this agreement without refund.

Communication: The Author agrees to maintain timely and professional communication throughout the editing process. Delays in providing materials or responses may affect the delivery schedule.

Timeline: Book Bunnies Author Services will provide a timeline for completion based on the start date and scope of work. A 10% discount will be applied for each full day Book Bunnies Author Services is late past the agreed deadline, unless a delay is mutually agreed upon.

Service Scope: Editing services will include the level agreed upon (e.g., proofreading, copyediting, line editing, or developmental editing). Any additional work beyond the original scope will require written agreement and may affect the timeline or cost.

Delivery Format: Edited files will be returned in Microsoft Word format with tracked changes and in-line comments unless otherwise agreed upon in advance.

Revisions: One round of light revisions may be included, depending on the package, and must be requested within fourteen (14) days of the final delivery.

Rush Services: Expedited turnaround may be available for an additional fee and must be arranged in advance. If a delivery date is less than six weeks from the due date, a rush fee will be added to your invoice.

Portfolio Use: Book Bunnies Author Services may request to list the Author’s name and/or the book title in a portfolio or testimonial. Excerpts will not be shared without written permission.

Changes: If an error is made due to formatting, we will correct anything that is the fault of Book Bunnies Author Services. If you change your mind or want to change something from how this form was filled out, you will incur a 50% fee.

Payment
The total cost for services will be agreed upon in your contract prior to the start of the project.

Payment terms: a 50% deposit is due upfront to reserve your spot. The remaining amount is due via invoice before the delivery date of the manuscript as specified in this form.

Payment method: Accepted via Stripe.

Payment plans: Alternative payment plans must be arranged in advance and agreed upon in writing before editing begins. Once the deposit is accepted, a payment plan may not be requested.

Payment refund
Refunds are not guaranteed once editing has begun. If either party terminates the agreement early, any refund or prorated amount will be determined based on work completed. Refunds will not be issued in cases where AI-generated material is discovered to have been used by the Author.

Confidentiality
All materials shared between the parties will remain confidential. Book Bunnies Author Services agrees not to disclose, share, or reuse any part of the manuscript or correspondence without the Author’s written consent, except as required by law or with express written permission.

Intellectual property

The Author retains full ownership of their manuscript and any materials provided. Book Bunnies Author Services claims no rights to the content beyond the scope of providing editing services.

The Author agrees that no part of the manuscript, character design, worldbuilding, cover art, or promotional materials has been generated by or with the assistance of artificial intelligence. Discovery of undisclosed AI use may result in termination of the contract without refund.

Privacy policy
Your privacy is important. By using Book Bunnies Author Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the privacy practices outlined here.

Service modification
Book Bunnies Author Services reserves the right to modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue all or part of the editing services at any time, with reasonable notice, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, emergencies, or a breach of contract by the Author. In such cases, Book Bunnies Author Services will communicate promptly with the Author and offer a revised timeline or a partial refund based on work completed.

Limitation of liability
Book Bunnies Author Services is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, delays in publication, or reputational damage that may arise from the use of editing services. Book Bunnies Author Services makes no guarantee regarding publishing success, sales performance, or reader reception.

Author understands that final responsibility for the manuscript, including any remaining errors, lies with the Author after delivery and approval of the edited material.

Warranty and warranty disclaimers
Book Bunnies Author Services represents services will be performed with professional skill and care, in line with the industry standards for editing.

Book Bunnies Author Services does not guarantee that the manuscript will be entirely free of errors, as editing is a subjective and human-involved process. Book Bunnies Author Services makes no other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or publication success.

The Author warrants that they are the sole creator and rights-holder of all submitted materials and that none of the work provided has been generated using artificial intelligence (AI).

Resolving disputes
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt informal resolution through written communication. If no resolution is reached, the parties agree to submit the matter to mediation before pursuing legal remedies. Any legal disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Kansas.

Right to terminate
Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time with written notice.

Upon termination: Book Bunnies Author Services will be compensated for work completed up to the date of termination.

If the Author terminates the contract after work has begun, the initial payment is non-refundable unless otherwise agreed upon.

Provisions related to confidentiality, intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law will survive termination.
